Awareness In The Hustle

Awareness In The Hustle I’m not someone who follows astrology but I know that the traits of a Capricorn - my sign -  are very much in alignment with my personality. Google AI just confirmed after I typed in ‘Capricorn Traits’ that we are ‘hardworking, ambitious, practical, loyal, leaders, sensitive, honest, persistent, rule followers’. In the midst of being a parent, being a husband, running my own acting studio, rehearsing a new Broadway show, and associate directing an off-broadway show (AKA over-achieving Capricorn) I recently received some very upsetting news about a friend which put my busy life into perspective for me.  As chaotic as my schedule is, I have found myself feeling much less stressed by work recently because I am allowing myself to pay attention to the simple things in life that I usually take for granted: My morning coffee.  The cool air outside. Uncertainty Is Okay

Uncertainty Is Okay Multiple students recently have expressed that they feel a little lost. In life, primarily, but it’s also affecting their work.  Two separate people have told me that it feels heightened or more difficult because people on social media generally post the highlight reel of the great things they’re doing in their lives and it’s easy to convince yourself when you see that that you are somehow failing in life because you don’t really know what you want or where you are.  Here’s what I want to remind you: None of us knows what we’re doing!  To quote the singer Jessie J: “It’s okay not to be okay” It’s also okay to not really know what you want out of life or out of your career. It will become clear eventually. Everybody is constantly just figuring it out.  If you practice patience and make sure you pay attention, the world and everyone and everything in it will help guide you so that you don’t have to figure things out all by yourself.
